Christian Wagner

Christian Wagner is a Professor of Finance at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. After earning his doctoral degree at WU in 2006, he worked as a bank auditor at Österreichische Nationalbank (the Austrian central bank) before returning to WU on a post-doc position in 2008. From 2012 to 2018 he was an associate professor of finance at Copenhagen Business School, and in October 2018 he was appointed full professor at WU's Department of Finance, Accounting and Statistics. His research interests are in the area of empirical asset pricing, derivatives markets and monetary policy. His articles were published in journals such as the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics. He has received several awards for his research, including the Western Finance Association's Best Paper Award.
